They say first impressions last forever – so how’s that curb appeal working for you?!?

If it’s drawing (good) attention, great, if it’s only mediocre and you’re looking for some tips, we’ve got you covered.

When you’re thinking of selling your home and aren’t sure where to start, we can help you out too. One thing to always remember is potential buyers see your home’s exterior when driving by. Your home’s exterior includes the front entryway, yard, driveway, and even sidewalk. Boost your curb appeal with these cost-effective makeover tips!

Dress Up Your Front Door

Even on a fixed budget, there are a multitude of ways to draw attention to your front door. Your front door is your exterior’s focal point, so why not create a new look? One of the easiest things to do is paint the door a rich hue. Like bold colors? Just keep in mind that you run the risk of making your home look smaller. When painting it isn’t the answer, try installing new hardware. If you’d like to showcase your interior upon entry, put in a glass door. That’s not enough? Add to your home’s décor hang up a festive wreath.

Spring Clean Your Exterior

Does your home’s exterior need a face-lift? Seasonal maintenance of your exterior is an effective way to keeping your house updated. Give your siding a fresh new start by washing off last seasons dirt, road salt, and cobwebs. Certainly a regular old hose with a washing attachment will do. And with the same device you can clean your windows too!

Speaking Of Windows

It’s amazing what the sun can do for our mood, what’s even better is what fresh flowers can do for your windows. Window boxes offer a way to bring subtle color to your yard and a smile to people’s faces. Not sure where to start? Well, there are many different options to choose from. Many stores offer window boxes for a quick and easy install. Finally, if you want to get creative, building your own window box could be substantially cheaper and bring charm to your home’s curb appeal.

Get Creative With Numbers

Are you maximizing the visibility of your home’s address number? Placing your numbers horizontally on the mailbox facing traffic is generally best practice. Similarly, having the numbers above eye level on your front door is also standard. Want to get creative this spring and boost your curb appeal? How about placing your house number on planter pots in front of your driveway. Make sure the number are large enough to view from the road or entryway.

  1. I just had my “sad” roof replaced. I also had a chimney removed from the exterior of the roof as it is no longer in use. Also many other items were removed. Your employees were polite and hard working. I love my new roof. It’s the perfect color for the house. I will recommend Graves Bros. to anyone who is looking for work done on their home.
